The Systems Engineer/Architect will be responsible for small and large development projects, day-to-day operational support of existing systems, integration of custom developed systems with purchased applications, and working with the business to justify and scope out application changes.
Will communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements. Will provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes. Will document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Candidate will verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Will collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components. The candidate will evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability. Will provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Will identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs. Will provide guidelines for implementing secure systems to customers or installation teams. The candidate will monitor system operation to detect potential problems. Will direct analysis, development, and operation of computer systems. Will investigate system component suitability for specified purposes and make recommendations regarding component use. Will perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations and design and conduct hardware or software tests. The candidate will evaluate existing system standards to ensure operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraint. A minimum of the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus three years of experience in the field is required. The duties described above can and will be performed from our Pennsylvania headquarters in Canonsburg, PA.
