Industrial Chemist – Will develop and write rubber compound formulations as needed to meet customer requirements.
In detail, the candidate will develop and write rubber compound formulations as needed to meet customer requirements. The individual will work with complex rubber composite systems and rubber processing including compounding, mixing, processing calendar, and extrusion. Will work together with a dynamic cross functional team including applications development, marketing and sales professionals to develop new solutions and new applications which enable the company to drive growth in various markets. The candidate will work closely with sales and estimating to determine customer requirements and recommend proper materials. Will recommend test protocols, fiber, and rubber characteristics necessary to accomplish the total system performance goals. The candidate will be responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis and experiments. Will Check for accuracy and consistency of process parameters. Will coordinating with other technical personnel to resolve chemical problems and recommends, suggest corrective measures when needed. Will meet delivery, quality, and cost requirements for products while strictly following quality and department procedures. Will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning lab equipment according to procedure. The candidate will perform equipment Calibration, Process Validation and repair equipment as required. Will maintain accurate inventory of lab supplies and log time and materials used on computer system. Will follow, monitor and improve standard safety practices and procedures. Provide technical expertise to management and all departments through chemical process. The individual will Interface with other departments to make operation more efficient as it relates to the chemistry area. The candidate will remain technically competent by keeping current and evaluating new developments the chemical industry.
A minimum of the U.S. equivalent of a Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry or Chemistry plus one year of experience in the field is required.
